The bottle, balloons, and straw give us an example of how our lungs work. It's the inverse relationship of pressure and volume. This relationship known as Boyle's Law. With real lungs, breathing increases the lungs volume which then decreases the pressure of the lungs. Just like our lungs, this model expands when we pull the balloon at the bottom.
